Java / Full Stack Software Developer

Location: Remote — United States
Employment type: Contract (6–12+ months)
Indicative rate: $70–$90/hr

Role Summary
We are looking for a Java full stack developer to deliver web applications end-to-end: backend services, APIs, and modern user interfaces. The role suits someone comfortable owning features across the stack in a remote, collaborative team. Remote work anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services in Java (Spring Boot or similar)
• Build responsive UIs using React, Angular, or comparable frameworks
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with databases and messaging systems
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and automated testing
• Deploy and support applications in cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
• Partner with BA/QA on requirements, acceptance criteria, and defect resolution

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java application development
• Hands-on Spring Boot (or equivalent) and REST API development
• Experience with a modern JavaScript framework (React or Angular)
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and agile delivery
• Remote in the United States; strong written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications

• Kafka, RabbitMQ, or event-driven patterns
• Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code exposure
• PostgreSQL or cloud-managed databases
• OAuth2 / SSO and API security best practices
