Location: Atlanta, GA or Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with hands-on experience in modern DevOps practices and AI-assisted development using GitLab Duo. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture, along with proven experience leveraging GitLab Duo for code generation, review, and CI/CD optimization. This role requires a developer who can build scalable, high-performance applications while enhancing productivity through AI-driven development tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs and web services
  • Leverage GitLab Duo for AI-assisted coding, code reviews, and development efficiency improvements
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and product teams
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and security guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Java development
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and microservices architecture
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Practical experience using GitLab Duo for AI-assisted development
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and web services
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps practices, and software development best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of security best practices in application development
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools
