Experience/Technical Skills required:  
We are looking for an experienced Database Developer with expertise in PostgreSQL and Cassandra. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database design, development, performance tuning, and maintenance to ensure high availability and scalability of mission-critical applications.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration
    • Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL and Cassandra databases in production and non-production environments.
    • Ensure database availability, security, backup, and recovery processes.
    • Monitor performance and optimize queries, indexing, and database structure.
    • Implement high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Development & Optimization
    • Design and develop database schemas, tables, functions, stored procedures, and triggers.
    • Work closely with application development teams to integrate databases efficiently.
    • Conduct query optimization, tuning, and troubleshooting for performance improvements.
  • Data Management & Security
    • Manage database replication, partitioning, and sharding for scalability.
    • Implement database security standards, roles, and access controls.
    • Conduct regular database health checks and audits.
  • Collaboration & Documentation
    • Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and Application teams for smooth deployments.
    • Maintain database documentation, including architecture, design, and operational procedures.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as DBA/Developer with PostgreSQL and Cassandra.
  • Strong experience in SQL, PL/SQL, and NoSQL query languages.
  • Proficiency in database design, data modeling, indexing strategies, and partitioning.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high availability setups.
  • Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and query tuning methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
