Key Responsibilities:
- Senior Ab Initio ETL who is a self-starter for assigned development of a complex mainframe to Ab Initio transformation project.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Ab Initio for data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources to target systems.
- Expertise and hands on experience in Ab Initio technology, create generic components, batch and continuous flows, Testing framework and Express IT.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other developers to understand data requirements and ensure the successful delivery of solutions.
- Optimize and tune existing Ab Initio graphs and workflows for performance and scalability.
- Develop complex data transformations, data cleansing, and data aggregation logic using Ab Initio tools.
- Ensure high-quality code by performing thorough testing, code reviews, and debugging of Ab Initio graphs and components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production ETL workflows and environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.
- Collaborate in the continuous improvement of ETL processes and workflows.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Ab Initio development, including experience in building complex graphs, developing data transformations, and optimizing performance.
- Experience with other Ab Initio components such as Co>Operating System, Eme, Metadata Hub, Control Center and Data Profiler.
- Strong programming skills in Shell scripting.
- Expertise in SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, DB2, etc.).
- Knowledge of Autosys scheduler and Kafka messaging.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and data storage systems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile development environment.
