Key Responsibilities:
  • Senior Ab Initio ETL who is a self-starter for assigned development of a complex mainframe to Ab Initio transformation project.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Ab Initio for data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources to target systems.
  • Expertise and hands on experience in Ab Initio technology, create generic components, batch and continuous flows, Testing framework and Express IT.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other developers to understand data requirements and ensure the successful delivery of solutions.
  • Optimize and tune existing Ab Initio graphs and workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Develop complex data transformations, data cleansing, and data aggregation logic using Ab Initio tools.
  • Ensure high-quality code by performing thorough testing, code reviews, and debugging of Ab Initio graphs and components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production ETL workflows and environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate in the continuous improvement of ETL processes and workflows.
 
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Ab Initio development, including experience in building complex graphs, developing data transformations, and optimizing performance.
  • Experience with other Ab Initio components such as Co>Operating System, Eme, Metadata Hub, Control Center and Data Profiler.
  • Strong programming skills in Shell scripting.
  • Expertise in SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, DB2, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Autosys scheduler and Kafka messaging.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and data storage systems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile development environment.
